30's nine patch quilt
It's finished! It only took 5 maybe 6 years. It started out as a 30's nine patch swap my sister I hosted. I really enjoyed making the blocks and all of the excitement of the swap but unfortunately I put the blocks away and forgot about them. I wasn't sure if I wanted to add fabric to it or what size to make it, so it sat and sat. Until one day I made a promise to myself to finish up all of my unfinished projects before starting a new one. I'm proud to say that I have stuck with that promise. (sort of)
For the back I used premium natural muslin and appliqued the left over squares from the blocks.
I went with a cross hatched pattern for the quilting design.

clothespin bag
For Christmas my husband gave me an umbrella clothesline. (that I love) It's retractable and easy to store. Oh how I love it. It's my little window into living in the country. I'll go out with a batch of clean clothes, let the chickens out and daydream of my future home away from the city.
I started out using pails for my clothespins but it just wasn't working. I searched online and found this one. It was super easy to make, the blog has the pattern and the how to.
I had to include the picture with miss baby blue (the chicken).

mug rugs
first up for the craft sale... mug rugs of course!
Yes a craft sale! I have always wanted to do it but time, moving and (let's be honest) fear have held me back but with the help of my sewing buddy I am finally doing it! We are planning to have the craft sale this fall so through out the year we will be gathering and sewing for our stock pile.
These little cuties just
need binding and then I can check them off the list.

appliqued gifts
I made these bags years ago for friends of my daughters.
I had asked their parents for a drawing that was special to them and turned it into an applique.
The owl was drawn by my daughter when she was 7.
